America the Christian Nation Part 4: Benjamin Franklin Quotes

I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life, I absented myself from Christian assemblies."

"Lighthouses are more helpful then churches."

"He [the Rev Mr. Whitefield] used, indeed, sometimes to pray for my conversion, but never had the satisfaction of believing that his prayers were heard."

"...I soon became a thorough Deist."

Benjamin Franklin. Founding Father. Signer of the Constitution. Delegate to the Second Continental Congress. Deist.

If their message is one of truth, why do they feel such a need to lie?

In 1787 when Franklin helped found Benjamin Franklin University, it was dedicated as "a nursery of religion and learning, built on Christ, the Cornerstone."

I've searched in vain for any corroboration to 'Anonymous' comments on the Ben Franklin University. Sometimes, it seems, the desire to believe something is stronger then the desire to learn the facts.
