The bible is an internally flawed, contradicting collection of anonymous writings that claims the earth is flat, upheld by pillars, and covered by a dome in which windows are located for god to open when it rains. It says the sun revolves around the earth. It says the sun and moon are lights and the stars are small enough to crush beneath your feet or fit in a pocket. It says light and dark, night and day were created before the sun and stars existed to distinguish the difference. It talks of unicorns, dragons, behemoths, leviathans, and giants. It fully supports slavery and says women are not allowed to talk in church, teach, or hold positions of authority. It has god ordering people to commit genocide, slay children, and rip open pregnant women's stomachs.
If you can't believe one thing the bible says, how can you believe anything it says? The claims in the bible are not found anywhere else but in the bible. In the future, will humans worship Bilbo Baggins just because a book -- and ONLY that book -- claims him to be a great individual?
Just because I am an atheist does NOT make me a horrible person. I have morals. In fact, when I do good, I do it for no other reason than simply to be good. I do not do good deeds just so I can be rewarded for eternity. I don't avoid doing bad things just because I don't want to be punished and burn forever.
As an atheist I believe in no god/s. Do you believe in Allah? Do you believe in Zeus? What about Isis, Thor, Mithra, or Quatzelcoatl? There are millions of gods and I believe in just one less than you.
When you pray for something, are you asking god to change destiny? How can fate be changed? If answered, wasn't it already destined to be? If so, why pray for it? If you ask for something that only one person can have, why didn't god answer the other people's prayers for the same thing? Why can't you pray for something impossible (e.g. to teleport or travel through time)? Jesus says anything you pray for you will receive.
Think for yourself. Don't be a puppet. Search for answers to the questions in your mind instead of pushing them away -- and if the answers don't fit what you've been told, then accept what that obviously means.
